Area AttractionsAside from Albuquerque attractions such as the Rio Grande Zoo, the Albuquerque Aquarium and Botanic Garden, museums, and more, you are only 60 miles from Santa Fe, and Acoma Pueblo's Sky City, the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in America. New Mexico is arguably where American history began, creating a crossroads of Native-, Spanish- and Anglo-America. |

There are many great attractions close to the conference site:

- Indian Pueblo Cultural Center
- Albuquerque Museum
- The National Atomic Museum
- The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science (which includes an exhibit on the startup of the PC revolution)
- ¡Explora! Children's Museum

- The Albuquerque Biological Park features the Rio Grande Zoo, the Albuquerque Aquarium, the Rio Grande Botanic Garden (which includes a Children's Fantasy Garden), and Tingley Beach.

- Sandia Peak Tramway, the longest aerial tramway in the world
- Cliff's Amusement Park
- Albuquerque Downs Racetrack
- Sandia Casino (one of many casinos in the area)

But you'll have a decision to make - New Mexico's official state question is "Red or green?" which refers to enchiladas made with fresh, young green chile, or the dried, crushed red chile. Outside Albuquerque
If you're willing to travel outside of Albuquerque, there are some great attractions for you to explore:
- For alien kitsch enthusiasts and abduction conspiracy buffs, the International UFO Museum and Research Center is located in Roswell, New Mexico, for your own close encounters.
- Santa Fe is the state capital and home to a vibrant art and music community, many museums, and incredible shopping and fine dining.
- Acoma Pueblo - See the oldest continually inhabited community in America.
- Carlsbad Caverns contains some of the most breathtaking natural caverns in the world, including the deepest limestone cave in the nation.
- White Sands National Monument boasts the world's largest site of white gypsum sand dunes, and features stunning landscapes, interesting wildlife, and compelling history.
- Explore the mystery of the vanished Anasazi culture at the Chaco Canyon ruins, and the mysterious Gila Cliff Dwellings of the Mogollón.
- Take a trip on America's longest and highest narrow gauge railroad through lush valleys and along the edge of the Toltec Canyon on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.

And don't forget the many national parks and wilderness areas for great hiking, fishing, golfing, biking, spelunking, climbing, white water river rafting, and camping. New Mexico has lots of great outdoors activities. |

After delighting at the sights of the aquarium, kids will particularly enjoy the Biopark's Children's Fantasy Garden, an imaginative and fun place to explore. Kids will also enjoy the Butterfly Pavilion and the Rio Grande Heritage Farm. (And don't forget to visit the zoo!) |

Also at the Biopark are expansive botanical gardens, walkways, and showcase greenhouses, perfect for a relaxing picnic on the large, flower-scented lawns or a romantic stroll under the arbors of the ceremonial rose garden. |

New Mexico is rich in cultural heritage for you to discover. Acoma Peublo's Sky City, the oldest continuously inhabited settlement in America, is less than an hour's drive from Albuquerque. |

The National Hispanic Cultural Center is located in Albuquerque as well. With great programs in the visual, performing, literary, and culinary arts, the Cultural Center is a hub of cultural activity in the area. |
